Marking into Being, a Visual Art-Practice, originated in a six workshops, part of a three-year course, to deconstruct habits of seeing and perceiving reality in order to cultivate resources for visionary leaps of imagination that our time requires. Our cultural reality model of separation from nature and each other is taking its toll. The dominate material and rational mental perspective for navigating life is not the answer to our current predicament. This somatic based art-practice invite cognitive perspectives that shift our identity and change our relationship to creative process. There is no dogma here but an invitation to challenge and transform core beliefs through mark-making. The shifts that occur radiates out from the studio into all aspects of life.

Each marking approach gives step by step procedures with meditations to offer a wider perspective of interacting and creating in a world that is grounded in a vision of wholeness, collaboration and innovation.
