We are in a momentous time of change. This change has been predicted as the movement into the Aquarian Age, the end of the great 5,125 year cycle of the Mayans and by the Mongolian shamans as the transition into the Era of Woman. We have taken our identification with the visible, material realm as far as it can go and now we must return to honor the powers of the invisible realms that inform the visible. A rise in consciousness is taking place within the soul of humanity. We are returning to the perspective that all life is interrelated. We are evolving to view ourselves both as co-creators and as centers through which the universe channels itself.

With the cosmology of today we are learning that we live in an omnicentric universe. We are told that we live in a universe that is expanding equally in all directions, so in terms of cosmic expansion, we find ourselves in the center of the cosmos! This is symbolic of the paradigm shift that is laboring to be born. We are, through our visionary cosmologists, learning that we are universal beings. That this life force that moves through all of us, through everything, carries an inherent intelligence within it that speaks of wholeness in its smallest parts to its largest aspects. Driving this paradigm shift is the realization that we now must become responsible to our powers of co-creation with the forces of the universe. We must awaken to our role as co-creators and our lives as centered through this whole making intelligence that flows through us and surrounds us.

How do we make this paradigm shift? How do we arrive at this new center of consciousness? The ancient wisdom teachings speak to this. Perhaps one of the most elegant maps of consciousness comes from the tradition of the Qabalah, in the form of the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life not only maps out the psyche and its levels of being but also our relationship to light and the creative powers of the universe which flow through us. It maps out a location of consciousness, which is called Tiferet, translated as Beauty, which is at the heart of this new center of consciousness. It is a place of witnessing our lives and opening to the flow of the universe orchestrating its wisdom and wholeness through us. As Brian Swimme, the cosmologist, says, “our lives are simultaneously our own ordinary lives and the central creativity of the evolving universe.” This modern statement reflects the ancient wisdom teachings of the Qabalah, which say, that each of us “are a center of expression of this life force which eternally creates and sustains the universe. Through each of us its unfailing wisdom takes form in thought and word.”

To work with Majio and the transformative potential of her particular teaching of Process Painting is to set in weekly practice this paradigm shift. The practice is to completely trust the larger unfoldment of process moving through you and to take actions by deeply sensing and listening to inner direction. To stand in the heart of being and feel the flow of story and archetype move through you and inform your awareness into healing and wholeness, into awe of the painting before you, is the practice of being in the heart of the Tree of Life.

Majio and I are offering a year long course in this practice of being in the heart of the Tree by experiencing the ten levels of consciousness on the Qabalistic Tree of life, a map of consciousness and the powers of creativity. It is our intention that each participant will become intimate not only with her own Tree of Life but also the universal wisdom of this ancient symbol of creation.

The breathwork led by Loic Jassy with the Process Painting was truly a transformational combination. Incredible movement was witnessed at every stage of the paintings for each participant in a way that I have not witnessed before. We moved from the intense hour-long breathwork session directly into painting each time, except for Friday night when painted to get comfortable with the process. Participants exclaimed that they felt focused clarity after the breathwork and going into painting with a strong knowing of the color or part of the image that was calling for attention. Many talked about releasing pain, blockages and grievances that they did not realize they had. From my point of view, everyone painted with increased courage and authenticity. Those familiar with breathwork were delighted to have the expression and integrative quality of painting in a large format available. Several people expressed that their Life Purpose was reactivated and strengthened. The group expressed the desire to breath and paint again. Loic and I plan to do another weekend workshop in the fall, so let me know if any of you are interested.
