THE FINE ART OF TRANSFORMATION: Painting, Visualization and Trance

In a nurturing atmosphere we will explore creativity, imagination, trust, and being present to what is, become inspired by your life, experience mystical inner journeys and learn valuable techniques to transform your daily life.

This is a six-week course meeting Wednesday mornings, April 16th through 21, 10-1 facilitated by Rainya Dann and Majio. No experience in art is necessary to open to your Essential Self.
Using acrylic in a large format we will paint from several positions:
Through the inner child we will release the veils of fear, anxiety and old decisions of survival get in touch with the playfulness, spontaneity, immediacy and authenticity of the Divine Child.

Painting through our adult self we will access authenticity of our true self, be empowered to live our vision in the context of love, joy, peace and happiness, gracefully accepting what is here and now.

From our Higher Self perspective we will access and embody through painting our spiritual vision, inner aspirations and resources. As we embrace our pure potentiality we walk with grace and ease in daily life.

Rainya Dann is the Co-Founder of the Dann Institute for Transpersonal Studies and has led hundreds of groups in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia. The Institute offers training and certification in Hypnotherapy and Breathwork, and Workshops on Tantra, Healing the Inner Child, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Women’s Circles, Voice Dialogue, Meditation and Spiritual Awakening. For eight years, Rainya conducted three month residential hypnotherapy trainings and taught hypnosis at Esalen Institute in Big Sur.

Compliment that Old Opposite

Greetings! Painting into the Tree of Life is a process that explores personal and collective archetypes in a visceral way. The Tree models well the transcending principle that unites opposites. In the face of duality there is always the question, how do I get there from here? Painting into Tiferet this month, the Heart of the Tree, my insights were two fold: the higher principle cannot appear if the poles are not accurately defined or there is unconscious conflict.

Exploring Beauty in the painting circle we listened to the words of the Irish poet, John O’Donohue. He says that, "we live between the act of awakening and the act of surrender." They are not bookends to physical existence, but bring meaning to our soul's journey. If the meaning of awakening and surrender is fully congruent in one’s self then the transcendent principle he suggests, living it, bring unification. There is the sense that not only are awakening and surrendering working together, but they create each other so that we may live.

I think you would agree we are at a critical point in our evolution. It is important for us, individually and collectively to expand our choices and resources. Jean Houston says we are heading into a time that is much more dramatic than the collective change from the perception of living on a flat disc at the center of the universe to a revolving sphere in a solar system. Many agree with her that our fundamental paradigms are shifting. Contemplating the idea of a different paradigm structure, which is to a great degree unconscious, is mind boggling. We all have experienced the daunting challenge of changing our personal belief systems and behaviors let alone collective ones.

A way to begin understanding our paradigm is to look at our dualities. In examining what is conscious I find that the poles of polarity exemplify belief systems and values that need scrutiny. Eckhart Tolle, for example, maintains it is not a contrast of life and death, but birth and death. He says life does not end, but changes form. Buddhists speak of this relationship by saying that nothing else leads one more deeply into the opportunity of life than death. They do not exclude each other but necessitate each other.

You would think that at least black and white are secure. But no, they are at their core different from what we perceive. On a vibration level white emits or reflects all colors and black does not emit or reflect any color. Painters know they are not in opposition, but have different functions. And yet black versus white is central to our cultural paradigm, leading to the violence of either/or, win/loose, mine/yours, right/wrong and on and on.

Carolyn Myss says that you know when you are in the realm of the truth of the soul when you speak in dichotomies. In dichotomy, the opposite would seem to be in contradiction, but can have a unifying principle. It is just that our view is too narrow. The central concept of quantum mechanics brings up the inadequacy of our thought system to fully describe the wave–particle duality as the behavior of objects. They appear exclusive yet are inclusive.

New Physics is aligned with the mystic and esoteric spiritual understandings. The transpersonal approach to psychology focuses on the Essential Self, which is holistic, encompassing all levels of human experience, including the spiritual. It draws its methodology from the spiritual traditions of the world, including eastern philosophies such as Buddhism, the Yogic traditions of India, and Western Contemplative traditions, and integrates them with contemporary psychology. It seeks to reveal the person behind the small personality which supports the concept of transcending principle. Transpersonal Hypnotherapy specifically creates an intimate dialogue with unconscious material to resolve limiting beliefs and open greater resources and choices.

In our lifetimes many of the tools that have been known and available like: hypnosis, shamanism, prayer and creative process, are taking on a new level of application. It is no accident that the availability of these greater resources comes when untenable social systems of exploitation and violence are reaching the point of collapse. The times we live in is an invitation to find a way to engage life on a more meaningful level to become more conscious. By derailing the habitual mind sets, releasing the old stories and tapping into our creativity and spirituality, we can craft new responses and transform the limited lives we have created into a new paradigm. -Blessings, Majio

Co-Creating With Light: Embracing The Light Of This Time

Change is so marked, and nearly immediate, of late that it feels almost palpable, Magic is taking shape!! Or perhaps we can say with greater clarity that Truth is taking shape. Each moment, we are aligning more fully with the Light – with the Divine Love that is our essence. Old ways of perceiving and experiencing self, life, love, money, spirituality, etc., are transforming. They are being healed, purified, or released for our greater good. The weight of their stifling limitations is steadily clearing from our beings. Though it may feel foreign at times, it is a joyous and magical blessing.

Moving more fully into alignment with the Light means that life is becoming more “true,” both our personal lives, and life collectively. Some of the impurities of old may still be clearing, but we have grown well through this time, and will, in general, see ourselves experiencing greater fluidity, joy, effectiveness, abundance, spiritual resonance, strength, clarity, success, sacredness and depth of love.

Easter time and the onset of spring are exceptionally powerful times for creation. Light streams forth with increased intensity in support of our spiritual and personal transformation. We may maximize the blessings of this potent time by working in conscious partnership with the Light and the creative force. Following are some tools I use in working dynamically with the miracles of this time:

• Identify areas of your life that you would like more light shone upon. (for guidance, for healing, for empowerment, for release, for transformation)
  
  
• Welcome in the illumination through prayer, being in nature, meditation, journaling, creative expression, dreamtime, setting intentions and affirmations, visualizing, talking truthfully about it with a friend, etc.
  
  
• Stay open, receptive and attentive to receiving information, insights, resources, opportunities, support, continued revelations, etc.
  If you receive guidance, ideas or awareness take appropriate action, if necessary.
  Consistently work to let go of old fears, limiting views and past pain. See in a new way.
  
  
• Believe in yourself and in the reality of goodness in life, and with faith and courage, embrace your unfolding co-creation, and the changes it brings.
